Small businesses are using modern technology to do things efficiently. One such aspect which helps small businesses cut some spending is online marketing. This allows small businesses to spend less amount on marketing and more amount on product improvement and customer services.
However in order to properly market their products and services using the internet they would need a website of their own. Well if you are very desperate and can not afford then you can create your own website. However since you are a professional business who wants to make good impression on the clients then it is highly recommended that you hire a professional web design service.
A design is like a plan, it helps the object to get things done in the way that is planned carefully. In case of a website design, you need to focus your goals what are the things that you want to achieve from your logo design and how you want to achieve those things. This design plan will stick with your business and if you hire a professional you can simply extend and grow your website using the same design.
But if you are the person who designed their own business website and now is disappointed as to how they are not getting any response from their web activities. Then perhaps it is time for you to think about dumping your currently useless website. You can always get a professional web designer for a reasonable amount.

Boast Your Social Networking Skills
Small businesses and marketers are getting really excited about social media so many of them hop onto it and start adding friends to their profiles. After a while they realize that all the hard work they did when adding people to their lists is not paying off. Their friends, contacts and followers are not exactly buying their stuff and they are not clicking on their links. So basically what went wrong here?
Remember its social media its a kind of medium that is driven by people to people interaction you are not really interacting with people you are shouting at them and you just want your stuff to be heard and you don't want to listen anyone else.
Get Real on Your Social Networks
Make your social web activities genuine by actually interacting with people. Don't just add people randomly and forget about them. It is like invite someone to your party and not attending them at all. Thats rude and very unethical.
Make Real Contacts
It is a foolish technique to start adding people randomly. You need to make sure that the other person you are adding knows you if they don't then before adding them introduce yourself and try to learn more about them. Doing this will actually connect you with the people on your friends list.
Get Social
Definitely you want people to visit your links and like your activities, but why would they do that. Again social media is about people to people interaction so in order to get response from people on the stuff that you are posting, you need to respond to the stuff they have been posting. But remember don't just randomly start liking and retweeting other's people's updates. You need to make sure that you display a genuinely friendly interest in their activities. Check out how to be a better friend on facebook for more tips.
Following these three simple tips will help you earn many more friends on social networks and these friends will eventually help you succeed in your goals. To make them familiar with your brand or business identity it would be a smart choice to use custom made logo design on your profiles.

Why New Freelance Designers should Join Logo Design Contests
As a new freelancer in the market, you would have probably realized this by now that the competition in the logo design and graphic design industry is very tough. There are thousands of companies offering the same services at very competitive prices. In order to beat them all you need to come up with a strategy that defines the difference between you and the others in the industry and why the clients should hire you for their jobs. A quick way to get started on this way is by entering into logo design contests.
1. Build a Portfolio
By entering logo design contests you can create designs for actual organizations from across the globe and show these designs as a proof of the work you have done on your portfolio. Sometimes more famous and well known but volunteer driven and publicly funded organizations announce such contests. A job done for such a well known or well reputed organization would look impressive on your portfolio.
2. Build a Reputation
Since most contests are organized by charitable organizations or the organizations with causes, hence working with them puts you in a positive light. It builds your reputation as a professional concerned about the causes that matters the most to the global population.
3. Build a Social Network
Even though you might be working for free or at a very nominal cost for these organizations, rest assured that these organizations are well connected to more resourceful businesses. Many large and small businesses support these organizations and their causes and by working with them you get a chance to present yourself to a more lucrative market. Further communication with the people could introduce you to the businesses who might want to hire you for their other jobs.

Word of Caution For Logo Design Contests
If you are organizing a logo design contest there are few things that you must consider. If you are serious about your business and wants to develop a unique brand identity for your business, then it is not a very good idea to get your brand identity by organizing a contest. The majority of these logo designers are from the developing nations in South Asia, China, Africa and Eastern Europe. So they do not comprehend the intellectual, creative, up-to-the-minute, and design requirements of businesses located in North America and Western Europe.
Since they labor on designs where there is no promise of imbursement, they are not likely to provide you very high quality outcome. In fact in order to earn a honest livelihood they must submit several designs per day and hope for the payment. Which means the work you get is of very low worth.
In order to rapidly create fresh logo designs, these logo design artists sloppily duplicate the ideas from other logo designs. This makes your logo design not so exceptional and original. Since a logo design acts as your business and brand identity it needs to be unique and custom made for your business. A logo design which does not fulfill these requirements is actually pointless for your business needs.
There are many lawful issues involved in competition designs. For example, the terms of your accord on these design portals evidently state that neither the portal nor the designer will be held accountable for any damages that may occur to you and your business. So if a designer steals someone else’s logo and they sue you for using their brand identity in your logo then there is no way for you to catch this logo designer and ask him to pay for the compensation.

Logo Design Contests Are Considered Evil
There are many logo design artists, companies and bloggers who think that logo design contests are an evil shameful practice that must be discouraged. According to them these logo design contests announce a price which is often as low as $50 for a logo design and then they get concepts from many different designers from across the globe mostly from third world countries where $50 is not that low a price for a logo design.
What worries these logo designers the most is the economical burden it puts on them, they can not compete with contest designers. So instead they claim that the logo designs generally submitted to design contests are of very low quality and most often they are plagiarized.
One thing is that the organizations who arrange contests for logo design are generally not concerned that much about quality of the logo. They do not have brand building programs as huge as that of some medium sized wicked software solutions provider. Most of the time these organizations are non-governmental organizations, churches, small city governments, schools and colleges. To them a logo design needs to just represent their ideals and thats all they care about. They need something to print, and something to fill the gaps.
The contest designers should be treated as cheap labour, if you can't compete with them you can not restrain them from working cheap. They do it willingly and in fact what looks like pathetically low price for a logo design to Westerners could be low but to the designers in Africa or Asia this is a good price for a day or two's work.
Wouldn't it be best if the big shot designers spent their time on creating high quality designs to prove that better designs produce better results? Instead of trying to steal away the bread and butter from these poor designers who do not have that many opportunities in their countries.
